PetSmart sells a cup of dying duckweed for $10. Worst part is that people buy it too.

My petsmart sells dead anubias on a log because they don’t put it in water 🙄

Ngl duckweed dies in my 190 Juwel Trigon tank lol. I actually not long ago bought some Water Lettuce to try and removed the front lid pannel. So far it’s looking good but we’ll see in a few weeks.

I know the big focus is bettas and I care about them too but the PetCo selling dead plants and putting the barely living ones on a dark shelf is genuinely distressing to me. Like that’s life too. PetSmart sells rotten plants from my experience which is also annoying.

I wanted some of this stuff for my bog garden in a pot. I asked at an LFS if they could spare some from their thick crop and the guy wordlessly filled a large bag with it. It’s still established in the pot; it vanishes every winter and magically returns in the spring.
