

The clutch on the Lexa is fairly well designed, but has one flaw. It can glide down and push against the lower spring. Once this happens, the Lexa won’t disengage properly from time to time. Bending that metal piece upwards so that it juuust about doesn’t make contact anymore fixes this issue. However, you might still need a pinion gear replacement after this has occurred a couple of times.

I don’t have that reel, but I have a Lew’s Tournament MB that does that. I’ll have to see if it’s a similar issue causing it. Thanks for the info.
