What’s up guys — I run a small YouTube channel where I document real shark fishing and release content down here in Florida.

Just dropped a new video of me and a buddy safely handling, dehooking, and releasing a massive 13.5’ great hammerhead. No BS, no clickbait — just raw footage and respect for these animals.

One of the craziest runs I’ve ever had… the reel was absolutely screaming.

If you’re into sharks, fishing, or just insane ocean encounters, I think you’ll like this one.

Would appreciate any feedback too — always trying to improve the content 🤙

  1. Hey bud congrats on the catch. Just thought I’d share some info as a fellow surffisherman: I stopped fishing for sharks after learning about their mortality rate after release. Apparently Hammerheads in particular have up to 90% mortality due to capture related trauma, so even after a successful release that fish is most likely dead. Here’s a link to the study: [https://sedarweb.org/documents/sedar-77-dw22-report-on-the-post-release-mortality-rates-of-great-hammerhead-sharks-sphyrna-mokarran-in-the-recreational-catch-and-release-shore-based-fishery-in-florida-usa/](https://sedarweb.org/documents/sedar-77-dw22-report-on-the-post-release-mortality-rates-of-great-hammerhead-sharks-sphyrna-mokarran-in-the-recreational-catch-and-release-shore-based-fishery-in-florida-usa/)

Not trying to diminish your catch, just sharing some info. Tight lines!

  2. Yea we used to fish for sharks in the 90s in the Gulf of Mexico.

Not proud of it. Fucked up imo.
