Caught in Notth Texas. I say male. Weighed 4.87lbs, fought extremely hard. No female i've seen is this much of a brute and during spawn the females are usually MUCH fatter. And yes, bass in TX are spawning even though it's February. I'm asking because i've heard a 5lb+ male is very hard to find.

Fishing in February makes me jealous.
I’ve been told the bigger ones are the females and smaller, feistier ones are the males. So i say female
Cut it open and look for eggs
