5 inch swimbait with a hook slot under the belly. Used a 4/0 worm hook with screw top
Am I wrong for thinking this is too small and rigged wrong??

That’s no good. With this kind of setup, the plastic is meant to mush away and expose the hook on a strike. It doesn’t have the room to do that so your hookup ratio will be negatively impacted. You need to use an EWG or some kind of swim jig.

Looks rigged just fine.
But yes, agreed, the hook seems rather small.
Depends on what fish you plan to catch.
For zander (pike-perch) it looks perfectly fine.
For pike its too small and you would have (i think) a lot of missed bites.
Try out and see what happens 🙂
(Do you fish it weight-less?)

An EWG hook would probably have been best, the hook isnt too small the gap is just too small, an EWG or a jighead would be best
