Hello all. Please assist. What in the world is happening to my gourami??
Past two days has been hanging out bottom corner but does come up for food albeit slowly. Like he is out of energy. Them today I see this long white string going in and out of his mouth sharply. I'm beside myself. What on earth is happening. Please advise!!

Thank you for the upvotes as I wait to see if anyone has any insight/ expertise on what this is. And how I can help my little buddy. I can’t bear to watch him suffer and I don’t know how to help him as I don’t understand what I am looking at and am cautious about medicating without knowing what this is. I don’t want to give him the wrong meds and make this worse!
I think aquarium salt will fix it.
This looks to be a large parasitic roundworm. Aquarium salt is probably not enough, best to use a systemic dewormer such as Expel-P https://www.chewy.com/fritz-expel-p-aquarium-water/dp/353759
