Finally planted and filled this 22.4g cube.
Huge upgrade from the 3g fluval betta tank.
How is it looking?
This is the same cube as the saltwater I set up two months ago. Should be interesting next to each other.
Fijicube 22.4g AIO
Chihiros Vivid Mini 2
Innovative Marine Helio heater
CO2
Auto top off
Amazonia substrate with root tabs.
Media tower with different sponges and a bag of purigen.
A lot of bio media in the middle chamber
I used a bunch of cycled ceramic bio media, sponges etc from the old tank. Also, moved many plants and added a bunch more. But also used 4oz of Fritz Turbo 700.
PLANTS (that I know are in there):
Rotala Rotundifolia 'Orange Juice'
Rotala Blood Red
Golden Nesaea
Anubias Round Leaf
Anubias Petite Vitro
Mini Pellia
Pogostemon Deccanensi
Hydrocotyle Tripartita Mini
Bucephalandra Green Wavy
Bucephalandra Pink Godzilla
Hygrophila Pink Chai
Bucephalandra Brownie Ghost 2011
Bucephalandra King Blue
Bucephalandra Red Catherine
Bucephalandra Kedagang Blue
Bucephalandra Petite Galaxy
Hygrophila Pinnatifida
HEMIANTHUS CALLITRICHOIDES ‘CUBA'
Bucephalandra Kedagang Red
Anubias Pinto Mini
I have a few questions:
-
How soon can I add fish?
-
I wanted to have pogostemon erectus go out of the water and flower. Does it have to go into the substrate or can I weight it like pictured (last photo) and place it on driftwood.
-
Do I start fertilizing right away? I am using APT 3.
-
Any cool ideas for emersed growth for this setup?
-
I used mini pearl moss for that branch sticking out in the back. Was that an ok choice for the moss?
-
I would like to prolong water changes a bit.
My tap TDS is 73ppm. Should I be topping off with RODI? Or ok to use tap? RODI is as easy as tap as I have the setup for the saltwater one.
Thank you for any feedback and advice.
We're such beginners, but toddlers love this dual setup and sit in front of it like it's the movies.
