I wish people would stop using the term “rescue” for buying from big box stores. You didnt rescue anything, you participated in the animal trade, which they will purchase a replacement for. If youre going to buy from petco thats fine, petco is usually way cheaper and offers 30 day returns on dead fish, its understandable why its enticing, but it’s not some virtuous route to take. Its like buying a puppy from a known puppy mill and saying you rescued it, you didnt, youre just buying it and encouraging them to stock more.
