I haven’t fished since I was a kid with my dad, he recently gave me his old tackle box, which judging
on the fishing license inside hasn’t been used since 1999. I’m assuming all the soft plastics are no good but are the feathered jigs still ok? I’m also unsure of what the blue plastic and treble hook is used for/still ok to use. Same thing about the flash glo spinner lures as well as the hooks, sinkers, and lines on the snelled hooks? Any other advice is appreciated, fishing in north Texas

no just feel if they’re sharp
Soft bait can be tested by simply pulling it apart with your fingers, if it is still kinda stretchy and doesnt just pull apart really easy your good.
Everything else should be fine apart from line, which as long as it wasn’t stored in high heat or direct sun should also be fine but can still be tested by simply cutting off about a foot and trying to break it by hand. Mono will have a tiny bit of stretch before it gives and braid should have none.
No, no, yes. As long as they’re sharp and not rusty, hooks last forever. Same for lures. Old line gets brittle. Braid lasts the longest, then flouro. Mono has the shortest lifespan. Any mono that’s been on a reel in regular use for over a year is suspect. If it’s stored in a conditioned space out of the light, it’ll last a few years.
Line defo expires if it’s not stored right
