I've never had a betta flair this much before. He flairs every time I come to feed him.
He's in a 10 gallon with 8 pygmy corydoras tankmates. I flicked a brighter light on than I normally have to record him. Water Parameters are normal, ph was 7.6 though. I got him 2 months ago. He had bad finrot and maybe ammonia poisoning in the store but he's been recovering well since I put him in his new tank.
He seem healthy aside from the flairing, but he flairs so much! Even if i sit at my desk he'll come up and flair at me periodically even if I'm there for hours. He flairs every time I feed him. I'm worried something is stressing him out? I move the decor around periodically, could that be stressing him out and making him think I'm a threat.

If it helps, mine did the same thing for about a month. He just wasn’t having it until he began associating me with food. Now he greets me in the morning waiting for his morning flakes.
He may just see his reflection or he could be showing off. Also you put him in a smaller hospital tank and see if that helps i know this sounds wild but I had a betta who hated being in a 10
That beta reminds me of a samurai for some reason.
I’m like 90% sure it’s because of his reflection he can see in the glass mine used to do the exact same thing until something else caught his interest
Every time he did it I’d like to think he was just checking himself out
Check the surrounding light if the lights are dimmed in the room he could be seeing his own reflection open up a blind during the day and brighten the room up more to match the light in his tank he’s stunningly beautiful tho I’m sure he’s seeing his own reflection try buying some omega one carnivore food it’s frozen and defrost a cube grab a pinch with some tweezers and when he sees u give him some off the tweezers this will also work with omega one blood worms 🪱 he won’t be able to resist the food and then he will start associating you with Food instead of fear because if your only feeding flakes or pellets he never gets to see where there coming from I feed mine all with tweezers I even got my female to start jumping out the water to grab the food off the tweezers. It will give u guys a bond try it it will work a few times don’t give up.
