Would anyone recommend this reel for a beginner in baitcasting?

This was a high-end reel and should work today as well. The casting system got better over the years, but still you should be able to learn on these.

I own Many reels, I got 4 calcutta and the youngest is 20 years old of surf fishing đŁ .

Calcuttaâs are fantastic reels. I have been staring at the facebook marketplace listing for those two. Tempting. If youâre going to learn for Salmon and Steelhead those will work but I would recommend something in the 150-200 size
