For the freshwater people: In the saltwater hobby, the worst we've got isn't cyano or planaria, it's Ostreopsis dinoflagellates. They hold one of the most potent non-protein based toxins known to man, palytoxin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostreopsis

    Whaaaat, does it come with the coral? How does it get introduced in the aquarium?

  2. Oh wow, I saw two shells with tons of these things sticking out of them at my local Petco. I thought it was a part of the animal. Yikes

    It it similar to red tide, in that the animals that sequester it will eventually shed the toxins?
