My other post was getting a lot of hate. Some people were claiming something was wrong with her. Others were very upset over the fact that I said I didn’t want to set up another tank for her.
This is why I don’t want to set up another tank for her. This is the second tank she has been in. It’s a 20 gallon long with 4 guppies. She basically has the tank to herself. Why would I want to set up another tank before attempting to make this one work?
Some of yall are crazy and jump down peoples throats with *zero* background information.

Oh lord yes, I find that in the reptile hobby myself. I have a male betta here with (i think) a Tumor in his belly as its larger and lopsided. Unfortunately bettas now have so many health issues and just don’t survive. Our oldest was with us for 1.5 years. The second runner up is now just over a year old. We’ve had so many bettas die in our comminuity tank, and in single tanks.
I’ve been harassed and bullied even when I’ve proven its not our care or parameters. Our tanks are heavily planted and natural with water changes on time. Yet I’ve still had multiple bettas develop dropsy, not respond to any treatment or just straight up die for no reason.
Yours is beautiful and so is her tank. Try not to let the toxicity scare you. When I first got into reptiles (very similar toxic levels) I was bullied to the point of tears for resucing a gecko and not immediately moving her to a bigger cage. (I was also a newbie but given what she’d been through i wanted to be sure she’d yknow live)
I know people that use burner accounts due to the toxicity in some reddits.
I don’t see a problem with this tank myself, I personally would have purigen in there to clear up the water but that’s my personal preference and not judging you.
As I suggested in the other thread you may need to put her in the box of shame (breeder box) while you feed the other fish.
I personally have the opposite problem where my other fish take my girls food. My tank is big enough though I can spread the food across the top.
Beautiful tank beautiful fish beautiful person! This sub is so toxic sometimes! I have one betta that’s a really poor swimmer so I took out his filter while I find a better one probably sponge. In the mean time I made a comment about how my shrimp make a noticeable difference to the algae in the tank and how my betta gets along with them. Some jealous louch just kept responding and responding within seconds of my comments hounding me(because they were honestly just jealous their betta ate all their shrimp and mine didn’t). Once I finally blasted enough holes in their bombardment they last worded me and then blocked me so I couldn’t respond. Don’t let people here bully you. Just lurk for the pretty fish and glean knowledge from the nice people!
It can get so bad on here. I’m a teen and took on a betta I found at my grocery store because he was not looking well I bought a 3.5 gal just to get him out of his cup (he was very de conditioned and had trouble swimming and eating if there was any water current) with a filter and heater and people on here acted like I wanted to torture him so I got him a 13 gallon planted tanks with the rest of the money I had and returned the perfume I got for Christmas just to be able to afford the tank and new filter and stuff and learned how to properly cycle it and I’m still getting backlash. My LFS that’s been around for 70 years praises me and yet Reddit tears me down it’s wild!
