That Life Preserver is so cute! Where did you find it?

Ive found that soaking the food first helps prevent this, just drop a bit of water on the pellets, leave them for 20 seconds before giving to the fish, it makes it easier for them to eat

Mines actually the opposite. Loves the pellets, but spits out blood worms every time.

Picky eater, give him 6 months.

Mine does this if I don’t pre soak his pellets. He doesn’t like the cronch I think because he also spits out snails he accidentally grabs as well.

pellets food is harder and drier than live foods so it takes a few goes for them to eat it properly, they’re effectively chewing the food up a bit

He also just may not like that food. My first Betta didn’t like the nutri insect brand, he’d spit out the pellets but eventually eat it. I switched to fluval Betta bug bites and he loved them. Same with my current Betta, loves them.

He’s picky! So is my new betta. I’ve tried four different kinds of pellets but I honestly think they’re too big for him. Try fluval bug bites, that’s what worked with him! They’re very tiny and he comes to the top every morning when he sees me
