Earlier today he was laying on the bottom of the tank so I moved him over to the hospital tank and not long after he started swimming like this every where he goes. I dont really know whats wrong with him so I gave him some salt and api fin and body cure. His name is Tubby and he is my favorite fish in the entire world, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your water parameters? Also this is a bare bottom tank which is usually not recommended

  2. At this level it’s unfortunately a goner. You should consider euthanasia at this point.

i did extensive research and this looks to be a problem with swim bladders, which are what controls a fish’s buoyancy. it’s currently not fixable at this point and it’s unfortunately going to die.

  4. Yeah that looks like swim bladder issues. There’s nothing you can do to save them. Theres a tiny chance they recover but it would be more humane to euthanize them.

It happens unfortunately for any number of reasons, you didn’t do anything wrong. In fact you were smart to move him to a hospital tank.

He’s not going to make it. Sorry. Did you put dechlorinator in the hospital tank?

  6. I’ve had a few do this. I assume their times up. They tend to pass a day or so later. Other fish seem perfectly fine, and have had fish in the same tank outlive these ones.

reading this melted my heart 😢. im sorry for what happened to Tubby, you did great, it is not at all your fault, as some people here have said. being at that stage of a swim bladder issue, it is very hard, almost impossible to fix.
