My Australian cattle dog is the only other living creature I’ll go fishing with these days… She cracks me up, she’ll be outside hearing me put food down and comes running inside at mach 10 but is OBLIVIOUS when another fisherman walks up on us. I’ll see the other person like minutes before she doesđ makes me realize she enjoys the outdoors just as much as I do

I’d never limit it to a breed. Whatever dog is your best buddy makes the best fishing companion. Mine is a disgusting 13 pound poodle mix. He’s my furry little heart and he’ll chill in my boat while I catch smallies.
