Went and spent some money tonight to get ready for the season. I've recently heard talk of the ZMan Tungsten EVO and how a lot of people are switching over to it. I've watched some videos and I gotta tell you, it sold me on getting one.
I lost my jackhammer at the end of last season. So this year I'm going to force myself to ONLY use the Tungsten. And to make it fair, I'm going to use what I typically use for trailers on a jackhammer: a Dinger. Yup. A 5" dinger. I only use those and beaver shaped baits for them.
Has anyone used both yet? Maybe at the same time? What do y'all think? I went with green pumpkin because where I fish is high visibility.

I do like a little more profile on my bladed jigs than what a dinger will give but that’s likely down to preferring the 3/8oz vs 1/2. Action is likely a wash because I usually go chatterspike or freeloader as opposed to a paddle tail.
For me, the Jackhammer will probably be the GOAT and difficult to unseat. It just catches fish. The EVO is 90%+ as good and I am for sure stocking up. We have had good bladed jig fishing conditions here recently and we were catching them just like Tak did at Hartwell. White/chartreuse, chuck and wind. That bite did go away but the green pumpkin or bluegill patterns are 🔥.
I think it’s that the jackhammer rattles more and faster while the tungsten evo makes more noise
I don’t find the jackhammer worth the price. I haven’t used the Tungsten EVO but I use the regular ones and they are plenty good.
