I paddle and fish inshore/nearshore off the Florida west coast. How reliable are the emergency responses to these personal emergency beacons? Are there any first hand experiences where a beacon was triggered but no response came? Any success stories from this region?

Personally, Iād go with a marine VHF with a distress button. But this should work fine. If you look closely at Florida FWC officers when theyāre on boats, a lot of them have these on their PFDs. They take safety seriously. Iād think that speaks well of these units.
