I have been trout fishing for the last few years with a 7’ medium Fenwick rod. I decided to add some quality rods and reels of various sizes for location specific purposes (small creeks, medium tributaries, and Great Lakes). First up is my St. Croix Premier rod MLF. This is my medium range trout rod for average size streams. I didn’t catch anything, but the sensitivity and smoothness of both the rod and reel were quite impressive. I can feel the money I spent. Can’t wait for spring weather so I can hit the creeks harder.
Do you have any experience with a St. Croix Premier?
Do you remember your jump from starter rod to something higher end?

Never used one and not sure how they fish but then pflueger reels look really nice
I like the president xt’s a lot I just wish the drag weight was a bit higher than what it is especially since diawa is cheaper and basically double the drag weight.
So far the president is the only one that’s lasted the last few years in all types of conditions and environments.
