Ive only had this fish three days at most. I dont know much about bettas. The waters conditioned, I have a filter and heater, the tank is clean and set up well. The red on his gills doesn't seem right. Also he keeps swimming at the sides of the tank very quickly. He'll go around the walls and kind of wriggle into them. I have a video of this but I cant attatch it.

Is your tank cycled? If you don’t know what that is you should look it up, it’s crucial to a healthy tank. On youtube you can find many videos about it

Look up something called a “Fish in cycle” and it’ll teach you all about how to cycle your tank water so the ammonia and other nitrites/nitrates don’t burn your fishy!
This is a coloured shit, irresponsible owner poisoning… Look up a fish in cycle. Loose the coloured stuff(they leak chemicals, plastic stuff to) get real plants, they break down toxins and look 100% cooler.
Well, test for ammonia and you will see… I’d do a water change and dose with something like seachem prime to prevent him from getting hurt more by bad levels
