How do I go about using this? I have experience (limited)with baitcasters, quite a bit with spinning reels and even a little with conventional reels but never one of these. Any Zeno 33 Knowledge appreciated.

Brother I don’t know how you learned to fish *without* ever using a Zebco 33.
You press the thumb guide in, and cast like normal, letting go of the thumb guide as your cast reaches peak. It’s as simple as it sounds. If you’ve used a baitcaster before at all, this will be second nature.

This is a spin casting reel. When you are ready to cast, you push and hold that button. Bring the rod back then release the button on the forward motion to release the line and make the cast. They cast way different than spinning reels in my opinion and are something you have to get used to using good luck

Push the button and toss your lure/bait out. It’s probably the most simple to use fishing reel. Despite being the easiest, they are a bit harder to maintain than a spinning reel. Since everything is internal, it requires more parts to take apart to fix issues. I would watch a video on how to replace the line at the very least. Should you need to, there is also complete teardown and servicing videos for this model.
