Don’t even remember adding it to the tank—it’s extremely small, maybe about half a centimeter. Somehow, it ended up in there on its own. I have to admit though, the colors are actually really beautiful and stand out more than you’d expect for something that tiny. I know some of you will be able to identify this instantly. That said, I’m curious—what are some very small community fish species that people don’t talk about enough? I’m thinking about setting up a few micro tanks and want to explore some underrated options that would thrive in compact, well-maintained setups.

I think boraras merah/phoenix rasbora? If it colours up, it will become clear.

  2. Either chili, mosquito or any other mini rasbora variants

Poor guy looks so skinny, do you have small/powder foods for the lil thing? Or have you seen the guy attempt to nibble at other foods?

  3. This is a boraras merah. Commonly known as the Phoenix rasbora. They get BRIGHT red and like to be in groups of at least 8. They have a small bioload and are very peaceful. I love boraras species so feel free to hmu if you have questions!!
