Anyone had good success night fishing in early spring? I’m located in Colorado and we’re in the middle of a crazy warm front (high 80s today and the next 2 days). I’ve got a couple of places I want to night fish and have never tried this early in the season. I’ve gone night fishing in the warmer months countless times so I’m comfortable with all the techniques and the darkness, just wondering if anyone’s had success this time of year?

I’m inclined to think no one really night fishes before spawn because it’s too cold for us – usually still getting chilly at night until June sometimes. We don’t really start going at night until mid-late May, over a month after spawn has already finished in my area.
But, the local weekday evening/night tournament starts mid-April.
So, I’ll say personal preference. Have at it – the fish are still there and will still eat just the same, right??
