DO NOT test it right into the aquarium. This was my first experience setting up brand new setup Eheim Feeder. I already did set up couple shity feeders before and I am aware that to test one feeding cycle is usualy done on a paper or something which can the fish food easly cleaned off. From previous experience where I always had to increase the amount dosed by the feeder. This time from previous experience I did set it more generiously hoping that these Eheim feeders work the same. The amount is dosed was WAY over the amount required. Ofc I syphone all visible leftovers increasing the setting up process roughly by another 30min just to clean up the mess after my self.
650liters freshwater with 6 angel fishes (juvenile), 15 neon tetras, 8 plecos (juvenile), 3 coridoras (juvenile). just cleaning the mess after the bad feeding was a 50liters water change.

I really do love this device though, I’ve been able to leave my established tank completely unsupervised for 3-4 weeks.
I just make sure I put new batteries in it every time I go away for an extended vacation just to be safe lol
Dude, start from the smallest aperture if your testing, not midway XD.
Oh god, the way I would panic if that were me!
Here i thought it was a common sense man. Lol.
When I first got mine I did maybe 1/4 that opening and regertted it immediately. If you set it to once a month you should be fine. 🤣
takes a special guy to know you shouldn’t test a feeder this way and do it anyway lmao
I did that the first time I used that feeder. I barely had the slit open but it was still too much. Now, I test it by running it a few times with a bowl underneath it.
No shit?
