That’s not that bad, honestly. You can pick and pull that out, no problem. Take your time. Pull until you hit a loop, then pull out that loop, and repeat until it’s out.

One trick, if it seems like you’ve hit a dead end and can’t pull anything else, is to set your drag as tight as you can, press your thumb hard against the spool, and crank the handle a couple times. I am not sure why this works, but it does. Magic, probably.

Like a 3 if you are patient. 10 if your buddy has to do it for you for the umpteenth time

It’s really not that bad. Mono backlashes come out easier. It’s VERY hard to explain how to fix this through a post. But basically u want to strip the line out until you feel tension. Then you ignore the loops and mess and FOLLOW the line coming from your rodtip back into the spool. If u do this, u will see a spot where the line has “dug in” to the spool. From here, u can try to pick at this specific area with ur fingers… What u are trying to do is loosen the tension where the line is stuck. This way, you can start stripping out more line.

You keep repeating this process over and over. Eventually u will hit a point where you can keep stripping the line, and the tension is gone, and the backlash is fixed.

In some cases, you won’t be able to use your fingers to loosen the line tension.
I like to use a nail clipper file at that point, just be careful not to knick the line.

This is a very tedious process, and builds up alot of patience. You do it a handful of times… and u learn quick to not backlash so much because it’s a pain in the ass to fix it 🤣 good luck bud!

If you didnt crack the rod over your knee, then it’s not that bad. Birds nest bait casters are the Lord’s patience maker. 3/10

You’ll be fine. I’ve had worse trying to learn how to properly do it and I was able to recover pretty easily.

Start pulling and don’t stop til it’s out. Just pull those loops til you’re outta there buddy. Be patient. It’s not even that bad I’ve seen guys have to cut their way out of these before with the 80 lb braid. lol.

This is a simple oneand its with mono/flouro which makes it even more easy,at least for some 1 who’s been dealing with em for a long time.imagine this twice as bad and with braid, now thats a real birds nest😅

That one is not bad, maybe a 2 or 3. Just don’t pull it into a knot and patiently work it out.
