I consider myself an experienced fisherman and I have a variety of rods. I had a medium heavy baitcaster for years, a quantum reel on a cabelas rod and it served me well but definitely wasn’t top of the line. Used it as a sort of a do-it-all set up for northerns and bass (Mepps 5s, top water, bigger jerkbaits, etc) but I wanted to upgrade to something nicer and a little more heavy duty. Sort of as an intro to Musky fishing.
So, I got the 13 Fishing Concept A2 6.8:1 reel and put it on a KastKing Spartacus II Heavy, Fast rod. What are thoughts on this set up? Will it serve well for specifically targeting muskies? I still wanted it to be a sort of universal rod, but will it hold up as a musky rod? Any opinions/input/ideas are appreciated. Thanks!!!
