I'm trying to put together a box of finesse/ small profile lures to cast around w/ an ultralite. picked up 2 micro chatter baits from z man and a micro spinner from strike king, and they all weigh almost exactly 1/4 (0.25 oz or 7.09g for everyone else in the world besides americans), despite all being labeled as 1/8 oz (0.125oz/ 3.54g).
I paid like 3-4 bucks for these individually so i'm not gonna get like up in arms about it, but is this something that just.. happens?

The opposite of buying drugs.
Just speculation, but it could be that the jighead weighs 1/8, but the total lure weight is 1/4.
It’s because it’s not counting the hook and most of the actual overall weight it’s just counting the jig head or body.
Also mass manufacturing can have variations in weight but yes you’re seeing scammy businesses getting away with advertising the “bare minimum” of what the actual true weight is. Welcome to business…
That’s 100% more weight for free! You’re lucky they don’t charge twice as much. Lol
Jig head weight.
