I’be been coming to the local city park that stocks the lake with fish.

Id swap that out for a jighead with a swimbait, texas rig curly tail worm, or a lipless crank and try again

I never fish drip shots although I know they can be effective. Try throwing a bobber on with the jig 6-12” underneath. Mess with the depth of the jig if your not getting bites and happy fishing

Just asking because I don’t know. Why is the weight at the end of the line instead of the bait?

What are you fishing for? Take that worm and either nose hook it or wacky rig it to give it a more natural presentation. Also, maybe try a more natural color.

Are they stocking trout? Put some powerbait on that hook and Carolina rig it

The rig is bad. You’re using high vis braid all the way around your lure- you should ideally be using clear line as your leader and tag line or you could even get away with low vis braid if you’re fishing murky water. Also it looks like your worm is hooked like you woulda live worm rather than how you should hook a plastic.

I’d try tying the drop shot on a leader instead of the braid. Don’t know if it just the angle it’s at, but the bait doesn’t look like it’s a natural presentation either. It should be nose/wacky hooked so there’s plenty of motion.
Cast, let sit for a ten count, twitch and reel in a bit so it lands in a new spot, repeat. Or very slowly reel it in.

If you want Bass grab a Texas rig with stick baits. If you’re just hoping to catch something use smaller line. I feel like your line is 12 to 15lbs. I’d go smaller like 10 or even 8 and use worms. Hook size maybe a #10. 6lbs mono line will be perfect for bluegill.

Go buy some fluorocarbon, will be a game changer for ya

The hook looks big for the worm you’re using, along with the weight, looks to be too heavy for that particular rig. Go for a lighter cylinder drop shot weight, if you’re able to buy them.

Look up a slip rig. You have your hook and sinker flipped.

Try using live bait, if it is fresh water, use live minnows. If you are in salt, live shrimp are great. You can buy a live well bucket with an air pump and they will last all day.

I recognize Los Angeles anywhere. Use powerbait on a carolina rig for the trout that they recently stocked. Or Alberto knot some fluoro onto your braid, at least a foot, and tie on a rooster tail
