Found this girl washed up on shore. I weighed her out of curiosity-8.7lbs and thats when I noticed, her gills were just barely moving, so I tried for about 30 minutes to revive her but no luck. I think she was just old and it was her time. I hope she had many generations of offspring. RIP big girl.

It was good of you to try to save her! Definitely sounds like natural causes though, which is far better than being human-related.
Always sucks trying to revive a fish that just wont make it.

I found a fish like this in the shallows one time.
I’m not sure what happened to it but it was definitely dying. About 2′ of water.
Was one of the biggest bass I had ever seen. Probably about that size.
It’s interesting how hunters and fisherman feel about our prey. All I feel a tremendous amount of respect for these animals. They’re really majestic creatures.
Largemouth bass, in particular, are just amazing predators. It’s also impressive how resilient they are. They’re much more clever than you would think.
Very interesting. My buddy lives on a basically private lake in MN and an 8#er washed up on shore barely alive. Super good condition like your fish. Same situation I I bet
