I’ve fasted her for 3 days and nothing is changing. She doesn’t like to swim a lot and lays on plants more than she used to. I did just move her tank not to long ago and changed the substrate to aqua soil

I’m no expert but I think she’s fat and bloated, have you tried feeding her daphnia to clear her out? Also how much are you feeding her daily?
Someone will definitely be by who knows more information than me but a few things
How much of what are you feeding her? Are you following the directions?
Water temp?
I’d maybe try some daphnia or maybe brine shrimp? I’m thinking constipation? Hard hard maybe, I’m very unsure. Not the most versed in this
It’s not fat it’s dying
I was going to say changing her tank could spur her to lay eggs but she’s fatter than mine ever gets before laying and she doesn’t look so hot. Have you checked water parameters? Her fins seem ragged and she’s clamping so she seems ill rather than laying eggs. Either bloat, constipation, fin rot, or maybe the parameters are off. Aquasoil made my pH go crazy for a while so definitely check that too in addition to nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia. API masterkit is good if you dont have one.
Can you send a picture from the top? Do the scales appear to be pointed away from the body / is she pineconing?
I just had to put down my betta girl who looked like this and had dropsy but the definitive way is to look from the top.
Lawd she comin. Probably bloat and partially fat. Try fasting a few days and feeding less, I typically end my week with a day of fasting the fish to make sure they’re digestive track is kinda reset. Fish are weird.
How on earth did you turn a fish square?
Fat and unhealthy
Eggs
Can you please answer ALL the automod questions as well as elaborate on what you mean by you feed her “a pinch or two” of bug bites? Would especially be helpful if you posted a picture of how much you feed her in your palm. You can copy and paste the questions and answer them in a reply to me.
Also, saying that you moved her tank recently and changed to aqua soil concerns me about your ammonia levels. Please answer the automod questions as detailed as possible and it will help us help you.
Based on her lethargy I’m concerned you caught her in very early stages of dropsy. I suggest you read this guide for dropsy treatment, but also read the post that comes before this one that talks about the different stages and how to catch it early https://open.substack.com/pub/jessielbettas/p/treating-dropsy-in-bettas?r=5rs2fn&utm_medium=ios
