Saw a school of these guys in my creek that I fish, some almost twice as big as this one. I snagged this while dragging a squirmy worm on the bottom, didn’t get any bites. Does anyone know how to effectively catch these bottom feeders? Thanks for the help

Suckers, and seem like they were spawning
These actually hit my stonefly and my roe bag when I was fishing for rainbows here in Ontario
White sucker. I see them in slower and deeper sections of healthy trout streams I fish in Wisconsin. No idea how to target them. I just sort of assumed they were an optional boss fight and you had to complete the game to obtain some magical item to catch them.
Trash fish that’s Super easy to catch on bait like night crawlers.
Ironically, my dad is good at catching these on the sucker spawn. A fly that imitates their eggs. He caught a 9 pounder once
Whitefish aka sucker. I’ve heard it’s a sign of a healthy watershed. I hate catching them because I always believe I have a giant brown on because of how suckers fight then am disappointed.
I’ve caught a good few of those that can put up a damn good fight. They can get pretty big here in NC.
When they are.spawning they seem to hit small nymphs especially a prince nymph. When I start catching these I know the spring steelhead are.about over.
