Betta Fish: My first tank

I was thinking of adding more plants but my boy really loves to swim around so I’m worried adding more plants would actually not be best option for him? I will add plants on top of my aquarium (lucky bamboos and hypoestes) i also wanted more floaters (frogbit and water lettuce) but i can’t find any place that sells them in my city, or even delivers them to me 🙁 so i’m stuck with only duckweed

He was a gift and i literally had to start everything from scratch for him, completely unprepared 🥲 i hope I’m doing well!
