I decided to try all male guppies for similar reasons. They got aggressive, particularly to one which got his tail nipped almost completely off. He died last night. They don’t seem to be schooling now that there’s only 6. They do better with females. 2-3 females per male is supposed to be good.

Lol no they shouldn’t care that much unless they become aggressive but mine do fine

  3. All male guppy tank is pretty normal to stop breeding. As long as there’s 5+ to stop aggression, or breaks in lines of sight, your guppies should be happy!

An all male group is fine. Just make sure they have plenty of plants and other structures in the tank to amuse themselves since they won’t be spending all that time chasing girls.

Would you feel sad in a world without women?

You could also feed less, so more fry gets eaten. But is this more ethical?

I have 13 all male plenty of plants and driftwood they seem just fine. They seem to have specific buddies some of them, certain fish will hang out with each other. Sometimes they chase or display but I’ve never seen any aggression at all

I’ve done it and ot worked but it was heavily planted and I had another tank to put them in with females if aggression took on. I didn’t have any problems but I have heard horror stories.

It could work, or it could end up in a WWE brawl. I’ve never had luck unfortunately besides my very early days in the hobby. I had three yellow leopard gups, all male who were awesome. They’ve passed on since. I guess for the best chances a heavily planted tank and feed twice daily, small portions to keep them a bit more sluggish.

I do this with endlers. There is plenty of aggression and lots of macho sigmoid displays, but nobody gets hurt.

The tank is a jungle, so there’s plenty of places for the large pretty ones to hide when they get tired of the harassment.

I’ve had 3 males together in a community tank for a couple of years now and they do fine!

I think it’s less ethical to be irresponsible and dump guppy’s on someone else or cull them because it’s out of control

Guppies are little hell fish and if you ever want to successfully remove them all from the tank at any point don’t let them breed
