Caught in Southeast, MO. I’m assuming it’s a largemouth but I’ve never seen one with red eyes. Caught today 3/23/26 at about 45 degrees. Any ideas?

I’ve never caught one but I’m pretty positive that’s a smallmouth bass. I could be wrong and he could be stoned but 🤷🏻♂️ guess you and I will learn from someone on this thread. Nice catch though

Smallmouth no dotted lateral line and the jaw doesn’t extend past the eyes.
