Had to respool after noticing heavy line lay towards the bottom. Removed the reel and did not notice any shims from factory. In fact, washer #13 was not included. Decided to remove piece #14 instead to see if that would fix the issue. Resulting in my post.
No, the line lay is tapered. You need to add a couple shims under the spool to move the spool up. They should have been included with your reel and are little washers.
