Betta Fish: found this sad looking (alien?) betta and decided to give him the home he deserves :D

his new home is 20 litres (5 gallons) and has plenty plants and some tiny ramshorn snail friends for now 🙂

i was at pet barn, originally looking to pick up some cherry barbs for my other tank and saw this shy little guy just hiding at the bottom of his tank. i asked about him and the worker said he had been there the longest and it seemed no one wanted him because his clamped fins and his dull colouring compared to the other bettas they had and my heat said i needed to take him home immediately and have this little guy as my centrepiece in my tank <3 i just know when he’s comfortable in his new home his colours are going to bloom and he’s going to be the most beautiful fish ever! i’ve always wanted an alien betta and he was only $20 (AUD) so i’m super lucky to have this little guy. he’s already exploring the tank and settling in perfectly.

should i get him some corydora friends? or perhaps some shrimp? also i need help picking a name! please feel free to comment any suggestions and/or tips for my new little buddy.💙🐠🫧
