I know, I know, it's a Pelican š but I couldn't be more stoked to finally get on the water! I have been waiting 2 years to pull the trigger and I had to keep it under $1000 for everything to get me going (pdf, paddle, accessories etc) and also prioritized stability over everything by a significant amount.
Catch Classic 12 footer.
What are some things that you wished seemed obvious when you got your first kayak? Looking for any tips on maneuvering, anchoring, casting, loading/unloading, underrated gear etc.

I would take a dry run on the water before putting any gear on it, just to make sure youāre fully comfortable. The Catch is very stable for sure, but in my opinion itās always a good idea to become acquainted with the yak. Invest in a really good carbon fiber paddle when you have the funds.
Congrats on the kayak. Be safe and enjoy
