ok, so i have a transom mounted newport vessels 55lb trolling motor that is controlled using a pwm unit mounted up where I sit. I just purchased a new one, a briidea 50amp unit for 55lb trolling motor ( because old one had a fried potentiometer) once I hooked it up, the motor worked fine for about 10 seconds then stopped, and the LED started glitching out. I then purchased a second unit, hooked that up, and the same issue occurred. the unit works fine when I disconnected the motor wires, but glitches out again once I hooked the motor back up. I think it's an issue with either the motor, or the pwm unit drawing too much power and causing a safety shutdown……has anyone else had this issue? thanks in advance for any information you're willing to impart.
