They stay in the same area the whole day but scare if I go to the shore. I have tried worms and corn so far to no success (worm falls off my hook easily). Using a size 6 rod and a small bobber with 30lbs monofilament leader

Tilapia on beds won’t eat normally. You have to either snatch hook them or annoy them with a lure enough in their bed that they pick up the bait to get rid of it. You can also just cast net them if you are in Florida they are invasive
What do you mean by size 6 rod? Is there a reason you are using 30lb test instead of like 10? 30 is really thick and the fish might see the line, I would use 6-10 for these
You might have more luck without the bobber, it often scares fish
I’ve heard of people using shrimp in freshwater down there. They would stay on the hook better.
You could try a ned rig, you should be able to cast that from pretty far away from the bank.
For me, if I see a bass and I want it to bite, a wacky rig is my confidence bait. In that sittuation I might use the mini wacky worms that I have.
Edit: I assumed those were bass. Idk about catching Tilapia
Dynamite fo’sho
Jk if it’s tilapia you have the highest chance by cast netting them or wait until it’s really cold and they’ll all float to the surface.
I use dough, just warm water and flour, I don´t know if it´s legal or not in your state.
Use a worm and something like 6lb leader
Cast net
I’ve caught plenty of bedding tilapia but using light line (think 4-6 pound test instead of 30). Using small jigs, flies, worms on small hooks etc
