Picking up one of these reels tomorrow morning, what line should I buy to put on it, all I have at home right now is 10lb zebco omniflex which is like cheap and I’m guessing bad(gonna get bird nest a lot with it) let me know if I can just put tha on to try it out for fun while I buy line, but if I buy line do I get braided, mono, or fluorocarbon line and what pound test? Also any rod recommendations that are cheap/budget

  1. BPS has some suffix 832 half off right now, just picked some up today. Cabela’s too I assume.

  2. If you havent used a baitcaster put the cheap stuff on and practice. If not new grab some seagur 12 pound fluoro

Depends on what you plan to throw with it

Single hook lures like chatterbaits and jigs work best with braid for strong hook sets

Treble hook lures like crankbaits and jerkbaits get the best work from fluorocarbon

Mono is mainly for topwaters and a decent, cheap all rounder, have fun bro

I run 12lb Trilene mono or 30lb suffix 832 or J-Braid on mine. Why two lefties and a righty?

I have the same reel I use 30lb braid power pro with a fluro 12lb Seaguar leader

  6. I use this reel generally with 30lb braid to a 10lb fluoro leader. I’ve also ran it with both 12lb and 15lb mono… All depends what you want to toss on it

I always ran 20lb mono on my black max. Canal fishing in south Florida it was my primary and did a good job
