What’s a good cheaper option for a trolling motor that will keep me locked in spot?

Not many cheap options when you get into gps spot lock.
You can always use an anchor if you want a cheap option.

The new power drive 12v motors have spotlock.

I got a terrova last year and do not regret the cost at all. Buy once, cry once. Being able to sit on a hot rock mound in wind is so worth it.

You can buy certain cheap used Minn Kota motors and then buy the gps upgrade kit to add spotlock from a site like trollingmotorparts.com, making essentially a much pricier motor at a much lower cost.
