This was a prize for a 102 lb yellowtail caught in the Sea of Cortez. Captain told us to take a chance on a deep shelf and we hit one fish the whole day. Won us the tournament and the etching.
At the time I had never heard of this process, even see the gaff mark on the head? Receiving this was a highlight of a pretty amazing trip and carries a lot of memories.
It's been a decade and we still pull it out to show off from time to time but I haven't thought about it in a long time.
If anyone has suggestions for mounting in an actual display I'm all ears.
