Trying out spoons for the first time, I didn’t get anything fancy besides a few basic casting spoons. I watched some videos online and they have some swivels attached to the spoon so I did that.
Secondly, I attached a bead to protect the knot, then used a bobber stop to keep my bead in place.
Finally I connected my 10lb Mono leader to another swivel on a 1/2 oz torpedo weight. I’m not sure what I’m trying to catch with this modified Carolina rig, but I just wanted to test the waters—-pun intended for trying my hand at predatory fish in saltwater fishing off the pier.
Any advice or tips? Please let me know your thoughts or should I say knots? Lol

No need for the bead, I have fished spoons all my life. I just normally tie on a snap swivel. That way I don’t get line twist and I can swap put fast. If you don’t like snap swivels you might be one that uses to big or to poor quality ones.

Yes, don‘t do this. Spoons are perfect the way they are. There is no improvement you can make that won‘t make it worse.
