I've had an idea for an app that shows you the Solunar information along with weather for a location and a date. I've been working on and off on this for years and finally have an iteration I think I'm OK with letting other people try out.
For those who aren't aware, Solunar theory is the idea that fish and other wildlife react to the position of the moon, its relation to you and the sun. For instance, when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot, fish are potentially more active and aggressive like they can be when the barometer is falling. I've always found it interesting myself, and at worst it's a way to encourage you to get your butt out of camp when you're having a lazy day.
I'm looking for people with Android phones (iOS will come after I launch it on Android) who would be interested in trying the app out and providing feedback on what they like and what they don't. Also, in order to release it on the Play Store I have to have a group of testers for two weeks.
What the app does:
- Allows you to select and save locations.
- For any location, you should be able to see solunar periods for any day you select
- For most locations you should be able to see a 10-16 day forecast and an hourly forecast
- For most locations you should also get a quick static radar map
- See daily values like sun rise and set times, moon phase and illumination
- get historical weather for most locations, so if you're looking taking a trip in August, you can see what the temperatures usually are for the location
- Overall I hope it looks good and presents the information in an interesting and easy to use way.
If this interests you, if you fill out this form: https://forms.gle/TMMdY4wuNkiTnfXm7 I'll get you added. I expect the testing period to start in a couple days.
Side note, I only mention US and Canada in the form, simply because I didn't want to type out a bunch of countries, just add yours. I would love to have people across the world test, because it's really easy to miss things in an app like this when you're focused on areas that you're familiar with.
