Im looking to get a GX2 rod would this be a good reel to put on the rod?

I wouldn’t recommend it. Tried one and it is very underwhelming. If you’re trying to stay below $50 look at the shimano sienna, under $100 the sedona or daiwa has some nice options

That or the Shimano the guy recommended aren’t bad options if you’re looking for a budget option to go have fun. Pair it with a Medium Light or Medium rod and you’re good to go.

Shimano or Diawa greater than $50 will last a lifetime. Personally I’m a Shimano guy.
