Caught this chunk today, went to weigh it and found out the batteries in my scale are dead. What would you guess the weight to be?? Second and 3rd Pic are a different fish from last year for reference.

Hard to say from the angle, but you don’t see those eyeballs on small bass. Def looks bigger than your other catch.
Next time you’re stuck without a scale, lay the fish next to your rod and take a photo, then measure it later – you can get a rough estimate using a length to weight ratio chart.

the eyes usually bug out like that around the 7lbs and up mark from my experience!

She’s a good fish. I’ll go ahead and say what the negative is.
Please don’t damage the gills with the hook on your scales or anything. She’ll die very easily with minimal damage.
