My fish REALLY likes this spot. He will swim back and forth under it and kind of nose up the leaves to go under them as well. I think it’s really cute but the I got it into my head that maybe he’s itchy or something??? This could also be totally normal behavior for bettas, I just haven’t seen anyone else’s doing it yet!

it’s normal, long finned bettas can’t keep up with the weight of their fins so need to rest a lot to take breaks. they also love dark spaces so that’s most likely why he’s putting his head below the leaf

Yeah that’s normal. Mine does the same thing and his favorite spot is the water heater 😂
