For context, I got bean on Saturday and made a post about him. Since he has done super well, his fins are regrowing and hes incredibly energetic, eating like a champ. This experience has encouraged me to consider doing a rehab and rehome thing where I take sick bettas, get them to health and find them a good home. Im going to do research on the subject for a couple months.

I went to a pet store yesterday and saw two bettas in a planted tank maybe ~3gal. With endlers and a pea puffer. One betta was attacking the other one, who looked super awful and just could not get away. His fins were shredded – seeing Bean made me think this fish is going to see a similar fate. I inquired with an employee but they weren’t keen on changing the setup and they would not sell any of the fish inside as it was a “show tank.”
Sorry for the vent.. my heart has been hurting since I saw that last night, but seeing Bean’s improvement today was uplifting for me. Wishing you and Bean a bright, happy future together.
