Maybe it’s the sentimental part of me talking, but one of my favorite rods I own is the Shimano Bantam factory combo my dad gave me as my first baitcaster. It is a low profile, but it’s probably late 80s to early 90s. It’s not the traditional shape we have now.
I have plenty that are worth WAY more money, but that reel got me addicted to some big money fishing purchases at the ripe age of 14. I still break it out every now and then for pond adventures.
