my Green Tetra that i purchased 7 months ago had a strange defect, possibly genetic. it was fine and it still is but as it grew it developed an even more pronounced arch on its spine (see video) should i let it go due to quality of life? it eats well just doesnt swim efficiently.
i gave it 7 months of a great home, should I continue?
any advice accepted, thank you.

Scoliosis.
I’ve had several live long lives and I have culled some.
He would do better in a shallower tank.
Do you have a friend with a pet turtle? I’m sure he’d love Froot Loops
If he eats and gets around and seems fulfilled, he’s fine. However do know that if he was normal when ypu got him and developed this over time, it is sometimes caused by (fish) tuberculosis
If he’s eating okay I would leave him be. He probably doesn’t even know something is wrong with him. If it starts progressing where he can’t eat then that’s when I personally would start considering other options
Your **Black Tetra** seems to be having fin issues. You may want to have a look at that as well. On a different angle I see the same on both its pectoral fins.

I’m raising fry and one of them is the same way. I figured as long as he survives it’s all good.
Thays how I be feeling when I wake up in the morning.
I got a derpy pygmy cory like this and he’s chillin.
Aww, I love your little squiggly fish. I agree that as long as it’s eating and it doesn’t seem to get totally exhausted trying to move around, but you should just let it live out its life. Obviously, if it gets picked on or starts to get picked on, then you may have to make a decision and come back and make a new post, but that’s what I would do if I were you. I have an Emperor tetra that also has a bent body and he is alive and kicking and living his best life even if he doesn’t move like the other fish in the tank do. His name is “Quirky”. 🥰
